When is the club membership year?
1st January – 31 December
When is the Pétanque England membership year?
1st April – 31 March.
When is the club AGM held?
Normally the 3rd Sunday in November. Please speak with the Chairman or Secretary for further information.
Are there toilet facilities available?
Toilets are available at the adjacent Community Centre.
How do I register interest in playing in a league team?
The club runs 3 teams (1 of which is a ladies team). Contact a member of the Committee. Please visit the competitions page on our website for more information.
Does the club run coaching sessions?
Yes! We have 3 Club coaches and coaching night is on a Tuesday evening 18:30-20:00.
How much are membership fees?
Fees are set at the AGM. Current price can be found on the membership application form (located on our website homepage).

When purchasing boule you should look to purchase competition boule not leisure boule.
What is the difference between competition and leisure boule?
Competition boule are manufactured to a high standard, come in a selection of sizes and weights and include stamps with the weight, manufacturer’s mark and boule type.
A leisure boule will come in a standard size (typically 74mm) and variable in weight. These boule are sometimes also filled with sand or concrete and are not permitted for use in competitions.
What size and weight boules should I use?
The size and weight of a boule is dependent on the size of your hand and also the way you play the game. Before purchasing boule we recommend that you speak to a coach or another club member and see if you can try a different selection of boule.
What is a Petanque England license?
A license covers you for insurance and also permits you to play in regional and national competitions.
Are there any local shops where I can purchase boules?
There are no local shops in the area. The only shop that sells boules are Decathlon in Southampton. We recommend that you check availability or order online for collection before you travel.
